Principal can be held liable for physical injuries to student inflicted school bully.
When a Freshman was injured by a bully, the Court of Appeals found that a Bullitt High School principal and assistant principal could be found individually liable for negligent supervision. In 2008 a student was subjected to a chokehold and passed out. He fell to the ground and hit his head suffering injuries when his head hit the floor. His parents took action and rightfully sued the school because they believed someone should have stopped this from happening. The trial judge agreed that this issue should be decided by a jury. It ruled the school administrators could be individually liable and therefore the matter should go before a jury.
